Love Letters

I've got plenty of love letters. Don't you just envy me? I've got an entire Milo tin of them. They're in my pantry, waiting to be transferred into a cookie jar for guests who come a-calling during Chinese New Year. People who live in this part of the world know that these fan-shaped, crispy, sweet wafers are also called kuih kapit. But Love Letters sound nicer. At least folks who have never got a real love letter in their lives, can boast that they've got plenty of love letters and they get to eat them too.

February 14 is round the corner. It's just another day for hubby and me. We don't celebrate it, not when we were courting, not now. But many couples will be in a flurry, wording the perfect prose or poem to express their love. For those who are words-challenged, it doesn't matter that they can't pen a love letter to save their lives. The florists, confectioners and gift vendors are there to make life easy for them, for a price of course.

Happy Chinese New Year.

Valentine's Day should never be celebrated! Even a love-addict like me can tell that some big gung-ho business man started this Valentine's Day thing going to boost sales for his cheesy cheesecakes or something.

valentine's day is great ... traditionally it is the day when all the little birdies get it together after the long cold winter ... and what little birdies can do, we can do a whole lot better, hey? so bill and coo with the one you love and don't pay any heed to those trying to make a fast buck from you ...

do hope your chinese new year was a happy one and you had a good rest

Dannie, enjoy your single days when the money's yours to spend. When Ms. Right comes, it could well spell some pokai days :)

Marsha, Great businessmen see opportunities noone else sees.

Sharon, Wah, sounds like you're really into this V-day spirit, minus the hype. I'm glad CNY is half-way done. Yipee, the kids are going back to school next week.

Jane, Thanks. If you time your next visit to Msia during CNY, you're most welcome to my love letters.

pu1pu3, I love it when readers fall for my red herring, hehe.

KT, I think you have to bubble wrap them in order for them to arrive intact.
