Wait a minute! I think I've just disqualified myself from the prize money. I'm supposed to keep this confidential till the money has been moved into my account.

Aah, well. Easy come, easy go.

When will you get the money, if ever? Tell me again, how does the windfall work (read: how does the SCAM work)?

Heheh, never mind the disqualification. You don't lose what you don't have to begin with :)

Knowing you, I'm pretty sure you'd give away like 70% to charity and keep the rest for needy cases.

Eh Poh Nim from TheStar universe told me "beware of Greeks bearing gifts". I supposed to tell her that "water from longkang are all black".

Compers don't go for SCAMS like this. Anyway, the mail is too shoddy for Microsoft. I think the scammer (?) is insulted our collective intelligence lah~!

Hi, can I introduce my self. I'm felicia from Indonesia. I read your blog because I search "netherlands promotion+microsoft" in Yahoo search engine. I'm sorry, but I had received the same e-mail too. I suspicious that this is like a deceit.Because the e-mail is same like mine. Nothing different. But if u want to contact me for talking about this u can send an e-mail to v_clave2@yahoo.com thanks

KT, last time I won RM30K what, can be friends for half a lifetime or not? Our first half already gone by without knowing each other.

Queen, I'll never get the 1 million euros. The scammer will of course try to fleece some "admin fees" from me.

Dr, I almost pulled it off, didn't I.

Bergen, 70%?! No-lah. I'm not so generous-lah. Don't forget I got 4 kids to raise and miserly royalties from my books.

p3p4, Eh Poh Nim says, not only is water from longkang black, sometimes sea water also like teh-o.

chris-u, Microsoft should sue this fella for using its name for a con job.

Hi, Felicia. This is not the first time I've received winning emails of this nature. And it won't be the last either. Scammers lurk around cyberspace waiting to make mincemeat of the gullible. We must be sceptical of claims such as these.

Dewa, are you Adiejin resurrected? So Adiejin didn't really die lah? Good, from now on I call you Dewa.

Ha ha ha!!! I receive this type of emails every single day and my mailbox has to be cleaned out regularly because some Prime Minister is dying and he has no heir or some people forgot to write a will before they die. and then some strange people want to give me loads of money, etc etc etc.

Eh, people still believe in this kind of thing ah? Any one ever fall for this joke? I would like to meet that person! And why are these emails still being sent. Got nothing else better to do?

:-)

Dewa, Moment of silence for Adiejin.

Marsha, I remember reading in the papers about someone falling for this type of scam. I only trust strange people who want to give me loads of money if they're offering them within the ambit of a contest. Scammers, don't get any ideas.

a friend of mine actually bought this scam. she went as far as TTing money (500 euro!) to the scammer's acc (supposedly for processing fees). of course she first spoke to the guy who was in the netherlands to make sure it was genuine. the final step was to send some documents to them. that was when she knew she "kena" already -- the courier company said there was no such postcode. an expensive lesson eh...
